Our Story
The story of Rebody began with a personal challenge that inspired a vision to make niche, expensive, transformative healthcare more accessible.
In 2018, my life took a turn when I injured my shoulder in the gym at the age of 29. What was initially assumed to be a minor case of over-exertion turned into a 7-year physical and mental struggle. I faced numerous misdiagnoses, leading to 5 surgeries and hospital stays, and the active lifestyle that I enjoyed came to an abrupt halt.
By 2024, I was correctly diagnosed with a condition called Thoracic Outlet Syndrome; however, after numerous surgeries and a subsequent buildup of scar tissue and restrictions around my nerves and arteries, I still suffered daily with limitations on my movement and enduring nerve pain. I started searching for solutions beyond traditional healthcare and stumbled across Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy.

I booked an initial appointment in London (costing over £200) and, to my surprise, felt a slight improvement in my symptoms almost immediately. Encouraged by this, I continued to visit other clinics across the UK until I decided to buy my own chamber to use at home. With religious use over the next few months, I experienced a transformative recovery that reignited my strength and vitality. Residual pain from years of surgeries began to fade away, and I was able to exercise and enjoy life again.
Alongside this physical condition, I had suffered from severe insomnia throughout my adult life. Despite trying every potential remedy from meditation to medication, nothing had a long-lasting effect. However, during my first hyperbaric session, I felt an overwhelming sense of calm, relaxation and mental clarity. Combined with red light therapy and the warm, melatonin-inducing LED light, I have found myself consistently sleeping for a solid 7-8 hours each night.
Seeing these incredible results firsthand it opened my eyes to the potential of HBOT, and I felt a growing responsibility to share this therapy with others. Whilst awareness of this therapy is starting to increase, too often the high prices charged by clinics are inaccessible to many. And so the idea of Rebody was born and I left my corporate career behind to turn the vision into a reality, along with my Co-Founder, James.
Rebody makes Hyperbaric Oxygen and Red Light therapy affordable and accessible to everyone. By combining the two therapies into one session, your results, time and investment are optimised. Additionally, as the benefits of hyperbaric therapy are cumulative ("40-hour golden rule"), we offer a membership model - one that allows you to use the therapy frequently at a significantly reduced cost per treatment.

SAFETY AT REBODY
All staff at Rebody are trained and certified by both the IHA (International Hyperbarics Association) and the IBUM (International Board of Undersea Medicine).

The chambers that we use at Rebody are soft shell chambers, which reach a maximum 1.4ATA, equivalent to a pressure of 13ft below sea level. At this level, the treatment is extremely safe, both operationally and for the health of the user. Rebody chambers use pressurised room "ambient" air, which carries 21% oxygen (not 100%), and c.98% oxygen from the concentrator machine is breathed in using a mask. The Rebody chambers are continuously flushed with fresh "ambient air" - the hissing sound that you can hear when in the chamber is new air coming in, and old air exiting the chamber through the valves.
HBOT up to 1.5 ATA using pressurised room air is referred to as “mild hyperbaric” treatment, whereas HBOT using pressurised pure oxygen in a hard shell chamber between 1.5 and 2.4 ATA is referred to as “medical” hyperbaric treatment.
Mild HBOT is increasingly the favoured form of treatment as it provides the majority of benefits as Medical HBOT but at a much lower risk, and in some cases can be more effective due to the absence of side effects.
As part of the introductory session, every client completes a medical screening questionnaire, and we discuss in person any reasons why admission to the chamber may not be permitted. Thereafter, before each session, we check if there are any other updates to the client's health, which the client confirms via a signed form.
